At the 3rd International Symposium on the Effects of Climate Change on the World's Oceans, MARINA PI, Eddie Allison, will present the Plenary Speech for the session which he convened on  Impacts on Coastal Communities, along with Manuel Barange of QUEST-Fish and Plymouth Marine Laboratory in the United Kingdom. Dr. Allison will present a talk titled, "Climate change and coastal people: what we know and how social science could help us learn more".

The symposium is organized by three international organizations - International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES), Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC), and North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES) - one local organization - Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo (IOUSP) - as well as several local sponsors. The event will be held March 23-27 in Santos City, Brazil.
